The journey to finding Sri Lanka’s next MasterChef began with thousands of passionate home cooks from across the island. After a rigorous selection process, shortlisted applicants were invited to an exclusive orientation ceremony at Cinnamon Grand’s Mahogany Hall, where they took their first step towards becoming part of MasterChef Sri Lanka Season 2.

100 talented contestants were selected to participate in the MasterChef Cooking Challenge, held at Cinnamon Life City of Dreams. Showcasing their culinary skills, creativity, and passion for food, contestants competed for the opportunity to continue their journey. From this exciting stage of the competition, 40 outstanding home cooks were shortlisted to enter the MasterChef Sri Lanka Season 2 Bootcamp.

Celebrating the theme “Sri Lanka on a Plate”, MasterChef Sri Lanka Season 2 showcases the island’s rich culinary heritage, diverse flavours, and unique food stories through the creativity and passion of Sri Lanka’s talented home cooks.

At the Bootcamp, contestants were challenged to create and present a signature dish of their choice a dish that reflected their unique culinary style, creativity, and passion for cooking. Competing for the coveted White MasterChef Apron, contestants presented their creations to our esteemed judges, Chef Savindri Perera, Chef Peter Kuruvita, Chef Roshan Fernandopulle, and Chef Kapila Jayasinghe, who evaluated their creativity, technique, flavours, and presentation.
Adding to the excitement, internationally renowned Chef Theo Michaels made a special appearance during the Bootcamp, inspiring contestants as they competed for their place in the competition.
Following an unforgettable journey filled with passion, determination, and exceptional cooking, 16 outstanding contestants earned their place as the official Top 16 of MasterChef Sri Lanka Season 2 and received their White MasterChef Aprons.
